David Black is an undergraduate degree holder from Michigan University. After completing his studies, he joined StreetAccount, a financial start-up company at the time. He later moved to SAC Capital Advisor, where he took became the managing director position. He worked there for four years before forming his company Quadra Advisors.
When he got the opportunity to join Balyasny as the Business Development Director, he didn’t hesitate to do it. The company was named the best workplace in the financial services industry at his time. David believes that individuals must identify mentors early in their career life. This is critical as it ensures that people can have people they can rely on when issues arise. David has always been involved in various philanthropic initiatives throughout his career life.
Among the key organization has been Outward Bound. This global not-for-profit organization offers more than a million veterans and young adults physical development opportunities through various programs and activities. Besides Outward, Black has spent many years helping to fundraise for the Robin Hood Foundation.
The other notable philanthropic drives include the UNICEF Drive for Zero effort and the Global Health Corporation that Barbara Bush established. David has also been involved with Year Up. This organization strives to help young adults achieve career excellence regardless of their access to economic opportunity, income, and background. Black has always been a big fan of nature conservancy, and he spends most of his time mountain biking, skiing, and fly fishing.
